2012 University of Idaho Pomology Program Table Grape School University of Idaho Pomology and Viticulture Program in junction with the Snake River Table Grape Growers Association will hold its 2012 Table Grape School on Saturday, Februarys 18, 2012 at Parma High School, Common area, 137 Panther Way, Parma, ID 83660. We invite all tree fruit grower, grape growers, home gardeners and other interested people to participate in this educational school. Several speakers have been invited to talk about their areas of expertise and many aspects of table grape production, from propagation, planting, training, irrigation, nutrition, storage, diseases, and chemical applications will be discussed in the meeting. The lectures will be given at the high school and lunch will be served. Then, audience will be guided to the University of Idaho Pomology and Viticulture vineyards to observe and to practice training and pruning of vines at different ages. Agenda: 8:00 AM:

Hello SRTGGA Members,
Wow 2011 has it been a busy year! We trust you had a good growing season. I know a number of our members had bumper crops this year. The season was a bit delayed due to the wet spring, but most of our vineyards catch up at the end of the season.
It is once again time to have our Annual Members Meeting. It is very important that you attend and participate in this meeting. We will have a number of offices that will be up for election. Your participation and leadership is critical in making this organization one that will
be of most help in supporting our member growers. We still have a number of issues to solve for our growers.
Please come and be a part of the solution.
Here are just some key issues that still need to be solved as a group in the future.

Saturday, April 2, 2011, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Purvis Nursery & Orchard, Homedale ID
PURPOSE: Learn theory and practice of grafting scions (cuttings) of apple, apricot, pear, and plum varieties suitable for Idaho onto semi-dwarf rootstocks and then make new trees for your yard or farm. Meet other fruit hobbyists and get answers to questions about fruit growing. Orchard tour follows.

INCLUDES: any combination up to a total of 4 apple, apricot, pear, or plum rootstocks; scions, mulch, wax, tape, knives, illustrated lecture notes, other items as needed.

Idaho Preferred Event "Treasure Valley Farmers Market Workshop (Nampa)"
Hello Members,
We thought we would pass this event information along to you. Snake River Table Grape Growers Association is a proud member of Idaho Preferred. Our members are invited to attend this Idaho Preferred Event. This Idaho Preferred Event is a full day of learning and networking with other area farmers market participants. The agenda includes marketing training in the areas of social media use, developing logos and signage, a regulatory update from the Health Districts and ISDA, customer service training from the University of Idaho, a discussion about forming an Idaho Farmers Market Association, vendor training regarding product displays, and special round table discussions for market managers. Lunch will include networking times to meet with market managers and develop other strategic sales opportunities through various outlets. The workshop will be held at Hampton Inn and Suites on Saturday, January 29.

The Idaho State Horticultural Society is holding its 116th Annual Convention on November 22nd & 23rd at the Nampa Civic Center. This program will provide attendees with a wealth of information related to pomology and table grapes.
Please join your fellow growers to harvest the fruits of knowledge from our industries best. Speakers will join us in Idaho from Washington, Utah, Oregon, New York, South Carolina and represent USDA, ISDA, University of Idaho, Clemson University, Oregon State University, Cornell University and Utah State University.

The University of Idaho Annual Fruit Field Day will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Registration will start at 8:30 am and program will start at 9:00 am. Where: University of Idaho, Parma Research & Extension Center at 29603 U of I Lane in Parma Idaho, main office complex on the front lawn area. Go west on Highway 20/26 in Parma, turn right at M&W grocery store, go for about 1/3 miles and turn left on U of I Lane and go north for about 1 mile. Cost: Free of Charge Who Can Participate? Open to the Public. Those interested in fruit production, including commercial growers, small farm growers, alternative fruit growers, home gardeners, Master gardeners, horticultural professionals and graduate students, extension and research faculty/staff, horticultural hobbyist, and fruit industry representatives are welcome. Participants can taste many of these fruits and visit displays of several fruit-related agri-business booths. For all the details see attached flyer of the days events. |

The 6th International Table Grape Symposium will be held at University of California, Davis, from Thursday, June 24 to Saturday, June 26, 2010, followed by a technical tour.
